The secretary & treasurer’s reports were read and approved. Pastor Tom told the Council that many hands were still needed to help at the October 27 Emmanuel’s Warehouse distribution. Several volunteered. Pastor Tom will be gone the week of November 10 - 16 and Pastor Joe Swaar will preach on November 16, 2008 in his absence. The Forest City Community Church will host the community wide Thanksgiving service on November 23, 2008 at 7:00 pm. Trustee chairman Allen Forsythe reported that a new mesh shade would be installed on the far south window in the sanctuary to help with the light during daytime events. Regarding a starting date for the roof repair, a call was made to the contractor during the meeting and he stated roof repair work should begin on October 27, 2008. Discussion was held on the replacement of the furnace and air conditioner in the parsonage. The Council will have a special meeting after bids are in to vote on the replacement and review bids. The Council will meet in November on the 17th at 7:00 pm.

Church Fees

    

 

After much consideration and discussion, the Council has decided to establish a new set of guidelines and fees for church rental for weddings and other events. The new fees are as follows:

  • For weddings, the rental of the church will be $140, plus a $50 deposit. The $50 deposit will be refunded if the church is left in satisfactory condition and the stipulations for leaving the church in suitable condition are met. This does not include the fee for the pastor, organist/pianist, soloist, etc.

  • For other events, the fee will be $50, plus a $50 deposit. The deposit will be refunded if the church is left in satisfactory condition and the stipulations for leaving the church in suitable condition are met.

  • This includes the cleaning fee. In order for the deposit to be refunded, there will be a list of responsibilities that will need to be met, such as sweeping, wiping counters, etc., as well as general care of the church building and its contents.
