Happen

Things don’t just happen to us who love God,

They’re planned by His own dear hand.

Then molded and shaped, and timed by His clock,

Things don’t just happen, they’re planned.

We don’t just guess on the issues of life,

We Christians just rest in our Lord

We are directed by His sovereign will

In the light of His Holy Word.

We who love Jesus are walking by faith

Not seeing one step that’s ahead,

Not doubting one moment what our lot might be,

But looking to Jesus instead.

We praise our dear Saviour for loving us so,

For planning each care of our life. Then giving us faith to trust Him for all,

The blessings, as well as the strife.

Things don’t just happen to us who love God,

To us who have taken our stand,

No matter the lot, the course, or the price,

Things don’t just happen, they’re planned.

Equip Ministries

All Sunday School teachers and those working with children in our church are invited to attend Equip Ministries this year at the Peoria Christian School on February 27th and 28th. Please let Pastor Tom know if you are planning on attending.

Singspiration

On Sunday, March 29 we are having an old-fashioned gospel sing during our morning worship service. If you have a favorite hymn that you would like to hear the congregation sing, please notify Donna Kennedy or the church office. Also, if you have a gospel song or hymn that you would like to do as a music special, please let us know.

World Day of Prayer

The World Day of Prayer will be held at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Manito on Fri. March 6, 2009 at 9:30 AM. All are invited to attend. Please come & meet Father Dick Brunskill, who will be the main speaker, and Deacon Bill Meyer will assist. Make your reservation with Karen Chaney 968-7323 or Jacque’ Whitaker 597-2279 by Sun. March 1.

New Address

Pastor Kevin & Linda Ray, “We send greetings to all of our dear friends at Forest City.  We have so many happy memories of the church and our time with you. We have been fortunate to have served three wonderful churches in the past 30 years, Shelbyville, Lovington and Forest City. Our new address is RR 4, Box 76A, Shelbyville, IL 62565. We were able to buy our own home and are enjoying living in the country again.
